Terms of use

Last updated 2026-05-24

These are the rules for using 3AM. We’ve kept them human and short. By using the app, you agree to them.

The short version

3AM is a private reflection tool for hard relationship and life decisions. It is not therapy. It is not medical, legal, or financial advice. It is not a crisis service. You must be 18 or older to use it. Be kind in the community. Don’t use 3AM to harm anyone, including yourself.

Who can use 3AM

You can use 3AM if you are 18 or older and able to enter a binding agreement where you live. If you are not, please close the app.

3AM is for personal, non-commercial use. You may not use it to provide professional advice to other people, build a competing service, or scrape, train on, or republish its content.

What 3AM is not

3AM is a thinking tool, not a substitute for a person:

  • Not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about hurting yourself, please contact a local emergency number or a crisis line right now. 3AM cannot help in an emergency.
  • Not therapy. The AI guide is a language model, not a licensed clinician.
  • Not medical, legal, or financial advice. The reports are starting points, not prescriptions.

Your account

You sign in with Apple, Google, or an email and password. You are responsible for keeping that sign-in secure. If you share your phone with someone you don’t fully trust, sign out — couple mode invites can be misused.

One account per person, please. Don’t impersonate anyone else.

Payments and refunds

Most modules have a free preview. The full report is a one-time purchase per report — not a subscription. You pay through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), at the price shown to you in your local currency before you confirm.

Refunds follow the policy of the store you bought through:

  • Apple App Store: request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Google Play: request a refund through your Google Play purchase history.

We can’t process refunds directly, because the store is who took your payment. If a purchase failed to deliver a report on our end, write to legal@3am.buzz and we’ll help you sort it.

Community rules

The community exists so people don’t feel alone at 3 AM. Keep it that way:

  • No doxxing. Don’t post anyone’s name, address, workplace, or photo without their consent — including your partner’s.
  • No harassment. No hate, no threats, no targeted cruelty.
  • No diagnosing strangers. Don’t tell someone they have a disorder, are an abuser, or should leave a marriage — you don’t know their life.
  • No certainty-as-advice on the hardest calls. Pregnancy, divorce, custody, abortion, leaving a parent — share your experience, not your verdict.
  • No spam, no ads, no selling, no scraping.
  • No content that’s illegal where you are or where we operate.

Moderation

We moderate community content with a mix of automated checks and human review. We may hide, edit, or remove any post; restrict your ability to post; or remove your account if you break these rules — especially the doxxing and harassment ones. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.

You can report a post from inside the app. You can delete any post or reply you wrote at any time.

Things we don’t promise

We work hard to make 3AM useful and reliable, but we can’t promise it will work without interruption or that every report will be perfect. The AI guide is a language model — it can be wrong, vague, or off-key. Treat its output as a starting point.

3AM is provided as is and as available. We do not give warranties beyond those that can’t be excluded under the laws where you live.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, 3AM and the people behind it are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the app — including decisions you make after reading a report. For any direct loss, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the loss happened.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for things the law won’t let us limit — such as fraud, gross negligence, or death and personal injury caused by our negligence.

Force majeure

We’re not liable for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control — outages of cloud providers, internet failures, natural events, government action, or anything else that makes the service temporarily impossible to deliver.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using 3AM at any time and delete your account from inside the app. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, especially the community rules, or if we’re required to by law. Where the cause is fixable, we’ll usually warn you first.

When your account ends, your data is removed from our database; backups roll off within 30 days.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date at the top and tell you in the app. If you keep using 3AM after that, you accept the new terms. If you don’t, you can close your account.
